The story of Evita lo que puedas is the story of serendipity and an alignment of the stars. Four years ago, Eva Merino worked as a journalist and not yet as the creative mastermind behind Evitaloquepuedas. When a snowboarding accident in Switzerland left her with a broken shoulder, Eva gave up her job as a reporter for TV channel Sexta and, for several months, remained at home. Then she began to design. She surrounded herself with fabrics, patterns, needles and pins and got to it. The vocation turned serious, with Merino ultimately requesting a sabbatical and moving to Ibiza. Her jumpsuits are today a must have on the local scene.
Silk weave pervades Evita lo que puedas pieces and the inclination is always towards versatile, one-size-fits-all garments that can come out of a suitcase or bag without a wrinkle. Which explains how that woman just went from beachside swimwear to a perfectly sleek… Evita lo que puedas, a forerunner of beach glamour.
Aside from seeing her designs appear at Atzaró’s fashion week and as part of co-productions with Laura Sánchez on the Starlite runway, Evita’s brand of beach glamour is regularly sought after by celebrities and bloggers. Even top model Kate Moss has an evitaloquepuedas onesie.
